Technical Sergeant Norman H. Robinson, Jr., of Fredericksburg, Virginia, is currently assigned to the Defense Information Systems Agency / Joint Staff Support Center as Tier-I Windows System Analyst for the Joint Operations Support Center Service Desk. Norman Robinson joined the Air Force in August of 1996 shortly after graduating from high school. He was first assigned to Aviano Air Base, Italy, as a System Administrator, where he took part in the base-wide operating system migration from Windows 3.11 to Windows NT. During that time he also worked at the local Autodin Message Center, where he gained valuable experience with classified information protection and security policies that would benefit his career thereafter.

After Aviano, Norman Robinson was transferred to the second largest communications squadron in the Air Force--719th Communications Squadron of Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado, where he was a System Security Officer responsible for maintaining IBM servers that were used for tracking various objects in space. There he also served the base Booster Club as the squadron’s Public Affairs Representative and the flight’s Quality Representative and was handpicked to represent his squadron in a meeting with the Space Wing Commander, where they discussed issues of the local enlisted community.

After two years in Colorado, Norman Robinson returned to the National Capital Region for an assignment at the Air Force Intelligence Analysis Agency (AFIAA), a field operating unit of the HQ USAF Intelligence. At AFIAA Norman Robinson performed a myriad of duties ranging from System Administration to Project Management, and he played a major role in developing the organization’s network migration and disaster recovery plan, ensuring data security and reliability to key Air Staff decision makers in case of emergencies. During that time Norman Robinson continued his participation in the military community; he was an active member of the National Capital Region Airman’s Association, elected President of the region’s Middle Tier Council, and served as a member of the Bolling Air Force Base Advisory Board.

Sergeant Norman Robinson is married to his high school sweetheart, Sabrina, and they recently celebrated their 10-year anniversary. Together they have two beautiful boys, Jahquan (9) and Nayquan (7). Norman Robinson’s hobbies include weightlifting, reading, sports, fishing and spending time with his family. In his free time he also serves as a Youth Leader for the Lighthouse Baptist Church Youth Department. Additionally, Norman Robinson is currently studying at George Mason University where he is on the Dean’s List and working toward his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology.
